To the College Steps Community:

We wanted to take a moment to connect with you to describe the action steps we are taking to ensure every College Steps student continues to receive the supports vital to the completion of their spring 2020 semester.

Over the past week, our team has worked diligently to prepare customized plans to help each of the students we support adapt to the scheduling changes that COVID-19 has caused. Each Program Coordinator will be meeting individually with every student/family to communicate this plan:

To continue our supports, College Steps services will migrate to online service platform timed to align with the start of each partnering colleges’ online class schedule. Online services will remain in effect until the partnering college renews on-campus activities.

  • College Steps will host a webinar on the migration to and use of our online service platform. The webinar will be open to our entire network and will occur on Tuesday March 17th 2020, from 8:30am to 9:45am. This webinar will also be recorded to be cataloged and available on our website.

  • All Program Coordinators are providing details to each student and family on the online service delivery model and related schedules.

  • Student schedules will be updated to include links for accessing online supports from College Steps and will be available on the student portal of College Steps’ website.

  • Program Coordinators will continue to meet with students and coordinate with professors on a daily basis to ensure each student’s needs are being met.

  • Peer mentors are being trained to access online supports and will be prepared to start delivering these supports in accordance with the partnering college’s class schedule.

  • College Steps’ Program Coordinators will continue to distribute relevant resources and updates from each partnering college or university.

The support of the students we serve remains our top priority. We are confident that each student’s carefully crafted plan will meet their needs and provide the stability required for the remainder of the semester.

We value your partnership and, as always, welcome your feedback.
