Join us to learn about the unique opportunity for select College Steps students to be supported by a professional roommate in a 3-bedroom apartment adjacent to Castleton through a partnership between Community Access Program (CAP) and College Steps. During the Open House, attendees will have the opportunity to see visuals of the apartment, meet the roommate if you're applying for next year, and talk to staff about the program.
The professional roommate who is contracted through CAP supports the College Steps students in advancing their independent living skills such as budgeting, shopping, chores, self-care routines, etc. With the support of College Steps, students will also take at least one college course at Castleton during the fall and spring semester for two academic years. This is a year-round living arrangement for participating students as they will continue working toward independence during the summer and during academic breaks—there will also be opportunities to plan trips home during these breaks.
