Meet Dana Gonzalez, our March “Mentor of the Month.” Dana has been a mentor for College Steps since August of 2023. She is currently pursuing her associate degree in engineering with the goal of becoming a mechanical engineer. Dana is a hardworking, compassionate individual who has a gift for connecting with students. She always arrives to her sessions with a smile and awesome attitude, and continually goes out of her way to connect with students and find meaningful ways of building them up and working together. She goes above and beyond with helping students make sense of class materials, problem solving, as well as implementing strategies for organization and utilizing campus resources. Tommy Murphy, Program Manager at Brightpoint, says, “Dana is making such a positive impact in the lives of our students. She does an amazing job helping students feel welcomed and encouraged while supporting them with making sense of assignments and navigating through challenges. I have seen how she is driven to make a difference in people’s lives and we are so grateful to have her at Brightpoint!”
