College Steps is a non-profit organization whose primary goal is to support students as they increase their autonomy during their transition to and through college.
In partnership with Chesterfield County (VA), College Steps provides College Compass supports to students who are residents of Chesterfield County. College Compass provides students with the necessary counseling and mentorship to be engaged on campus and find success in class-related assignments and activities.
College Compass Provides Student Access to:
Four to ten hours of support per week (determined by Program Team)
Access to: Check-in or check-out with the Program Coordinator and/or mentors to review goals
Group-based supports for homework
Class preparation and/or guidance with assignment preparation
College Steps weekly Community Skills Class
Facilitation of academic advising, accommodations, and counseling
Promotion of self-advocacy skills
We offer a rolling admissions process—which means, you can apply at anytime! However, spots fill quickly and we move to a waitlist, so we recommend you apply between before March for the next/upcoming academic year! If you have any questions, just reach out to our Admissions team.
